Manchester United are set to make a summer transfer move for Michael Olise a priority as Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to inject cash into the club.

The Red Devils' interest in the Eagles talented winger has been no secret but the latest update from FootballTransfers reaffirms Manchester United's intent to complete a deal with the outlet reporting that there are set to be no problems in making it a reality.

The outlet claims that Olise is 'open' to a move to Manchester United and will let the deal happen come the end of the campaign. It is reported that the player has a £60 million release clause in his current deal which, if activated by Manchester United, would allow for talks to take place.

The 22-year-old former Reading man is seen as a solution to replace the unconvincing Antony as uncertainty over Jadon Sancho's future in the North West continues. Sporting CP winger Marcus Edwards is also touted as an option for Manchester United and his £35 million price tag could be a lower-priced alternative.

While £60 million could go a long way to helping Oliver Glasner building a squad in his own design, an Olise departure would be a blow for Crystal Palace supporters, who have witnessed first-hand the ability of the remarkable youngster.

FootballTransfers adds that Ineos have made Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite the other top target this summer. The 21-year-old has impressed for the Toffees this season and could be a long-term linchpin to the Red Devils' back-line in years to come - but is reported to have a lofty £75 million price tag. The transfer of Olise and Branthwaite could add up to £135 million for Sir Jim and United.

Manchester United will be aware that signing Olise comes with a risk given his injury history while at Selhurst Park. He has only made 11 Premier League appearances this season due to fitness concerns and has missed the last five with a hamstring injury.

Speaking after Olise won the London Football Award for Goal of the Season last week, Crystal Palace boss Glasner said: "It was nice that Michael received the [London Football] award for the Goal of the Season yesterday evening, so we all congratulated him today. He deserves it and it gives him confidence and a good feeling for working out because Michael is a player – I hope most of the players, but Michael especially – he wants to train football, and it's tough for him to train in the gym and to run when he cannot play football [due to injury].

"But we expect him back… I don't know, we don't know exactly… but at the end of March or April, I hope everything goes well and our medical department does a great job, and he's also very ambitious to train with us, and I think maybe after the international team break, he can be with us in training. But it was his third heavy injury this season, so we'll take care of him.

"With every player, we want to avoid any injury and, of course, when you have this past with three injuries, starting in the summer after the Under-21s with France… so it's important to take care of all our players."
