Chelsea's hope of signing Michael Olise have suffered a massive blow with the Crystal Palace star reportedly interested in a move to Manchester United according to Football.London.

Chelsea were interested in signing the Palace winger during last summer's transfer window, activating a £35million release clause in his contract, but the player opted to stay in south London and signed a new deal that rakes him £100k-a-week wages.

The Blues though are reportedly still interested in the deal but it has now emerged that the 22-year-old former Reading forward would rather prefer to join Erik ten Hag's team.

United are keen on making the Palace star the first signing of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era at Old Trafford this summer with his new deal at Palace thought to include another release clause that comes into effect at the end of the season. He is seen as the ideal replacement for Jadon Sancho who fell out with Ten Hag and was shipped out to Dortmund on loan.

Manchester United have a good relationship with Crystal Palace having done deals for Wilfried Zaha and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the past.

Chelsea turning the corner

Chelsea look to have turned the corner in recent weeks having reached the final of the League Cup and earned an FA Cup fourth-round replay against Aston Villa

Aside from interest in Olise, they have also been linked to Napoli's Victor Osimhen, who is seen as the final piece of the jigsaw to transform Mauricio Pochettino's side.
