Dominic Calvert-Lewin has given Everton boss Sean Dyche a huge lift ahead of their visit to Crystal Palace by returning to training for the first time in months.

Everton have won only three in 10 games under Dyche and knows they’re running out of time to save their Premier League season having been battered 3-1 at home to Fulham over the weekend. Before that, they lost to Manchester United and drew with Chelsea.

The nature of the Fulham defeat would have troubled manager Dyche who is renowned for building tough teams that fight until the end, but it remains to be seen if he’s done enough to just keep the Toffees up in what has been a truly challenging campaign.

Striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin who last played for the club in the 1-0 home win over Arsenal however will be a welcome boost after he played a part in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Finch Farm this week.

In his prime and without the distraction of injury, Dominic Calvert-Lewin bagged 21 goals for Everton and was rewarded with call-ups to the England team, having him fit for the last round of games could be the difference between staying up and going down.

Sean Dyche is expected to address the press before the trip to London and will confirm if the striker has done enough to make the trip to the capital this weekend.

Crystal Palace are enjoying the best form all season and the decision to re-appoint veteran Roy Hodgson seems to be a morale-boosting one.

They have won their last three games including thumping Leeds United 5-1 at Elland Raod, the first time they had scored five goals in a game since 2020.

The last time they played at Selhurst, they beat Leicester 2-1 with Jean-Philippe Mateta scoring a last-gasp goal.
