Crystal Palace are being linked with Besiktas’ Gedson Fernandes and Blackburn Rovers’ Adam Wharton ahead of the summer. The midfield pair are both said to be on the Eagles’ radar ahead of the next transfer window.

According to Italian news outlet CalcioMercato, the London club are interested in luring former Tottenham Hotspur man Gedson Fernandes back to England. The 24-year-old, who moved to Turkey last year from Benfica, is also said to be wanted by Fulham, Aston Villa, Lazio and Roma.

He had a loan spell at Spurs a couple of years ago but struggled to make an impact. The Portugal international made 14 appearances in all competitions during his last stint in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace are also said to be keen on Blackburn prospect Wharton as they look to bolster their ranks. The Sun claim Roy Hodgson’s side are ‘checking’ on the progress of the youngster at Ewood Park.

The 18-year-old has risen up through the youth ranks of his local side and has broken into their first-team over recent times. He has played 12 games already this term and was handed a new deal earlier this year.

However, the Lancashire outfit could still face a battle to keep him with Crystal Palace mentioned as a potential suitor. His deal expires in 2025.
