Crystal Palace star Jordan Ayew was in brilliant form to help Ghana to a 2-0 win over Switzerland in their final pre-World Cup game in Abu Dhabi.

Ayew is one of two Palace players heading to the World Cup and he proved his versatility by playing on the left side of attack for his country.

It’s something he’s not been able to do at club level because Wilfried Zaha plays there.

Ayew’s performance was one of the highlights of Ghana’s strength as he linked up well throughout the 62 minutes he was on the pitch.

The 30-year-old has been one of Patrick Vieira’s utility players this season.

His performance will go a long way to helping both his country at the World Cup and giving Palace a presence at the global event.

Jeffrey Schlupp who made it into Ghana’s fist 55 man squad missed out on the final squad and will have to watch from his home in south London as his teammate represents the club.

But Vieira will be keeping an eye on Jordan’s performance and will hope that he continues to impress.

Palace ended the first half of the season with a disappointing defeat to Nottingham Forest.

But overall they were quite good and are 11th on the Premier League table having played some of the big teams away from home.

Joachim Andersen is the other Palace player at the World Cup in Qatar and his country will take Tunisia, France and Australia in a group that promises a lot of intrigue.
