Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Brighton target handed Celtic contract

Crystal Palace left-back target Mitchel Frame has put pen-to-paper on a new deal at Celtic. The prospect has committed his future to the Glasgow giants until the summer of 2026 to put to bed any speculation regarding his future.

According to a report by the Daily Record, the Eagles have been interested in luring him down to England over recent times. Fellow Premier League sides Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion have also been credited with an interest.

However, Crystal Palace will now need to look elsewhere for reinforcements with the 17-year-old securing an extension. He will be eyeing a place in Celtic’s first-team down the line.

Frame has been on the books at Celtic Park for his whole career to date and has risen up through the academy ranks of the current Scottish Premiership champions. He has been a regular for them at various youth levels and is a key player for their B team in the Lowland League at the moment, which is the fifth tier of Scottish football.

Crystal Palace are back in Premier League action this weekend with an away trip to Manchester United. They are heading back to Old Trafford after their 3-0 loss against the Red Devils in the Carabao Cup last time out.

Speaking ahead of the match, Roy Hodgson has said: “This is a new game and it’s a different team. We will make changes to our team to the one that played on Tuesday night.

“As far as I’m concerned, we will go up there with the same high hopes when one always has when they go to Old Trafford and I look forward to the game.

“It’s a fantastic football arena and we’re playing against one of the best clubs in the world. That’s something you should embrace and look forward to, rather than have doubts or fears about.

“The work we always do in terms of preparing our team has been done, and I’m more than satisfied the players are looking forward to the game and have the same attitude towards what the game as I have and the rest of the coaching staff.”
