Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha’s future at Selhurst Park is still up in the air. His contract with the Premier League club expires at the end of the season and he is still weighing up his options.

As detailed in a report by the Daily Mail, he is ‘yet to provide the club with a definitive decision over his future’. A contract is said to have been on the table for ‘several’ weeks but he hasn’t put pen-to-paper at this stage.

At the age of 30, this is a huge decision for the attacker. It may be his last chance to potentially land a transfer to a club playing European football. However, he has a big affinity to Crystal Palace so an exit would be tough.

Zaha, who is an Ivory Coast international, started out with the Eagles and left for Manchester United as a youngster back in 2013. That move didn’t work out though and he ended up back in South London a couple of years later.

He has since scored 71 goals in 307 games. There is no doubt that he is a crucial player for the club but they will want his situation sorted as soon as possible so they can start planning ahead. It appears this saga could drag on though over the next couple of months.

In other news, Crystal Palace boss Patrick Viera has admitted being a manager is harder than being a player. He has told the club website: “It’s easier to play! It’s a different kind of stress and pressure. When you play, you feel like you can control what’s going on on the field. You feel like you can have an impact on the result.”
