Former Crystal Palace striker Connor Wickham has emerged on the radar of Cardiff City. He became a free agent last month after cutting ties with Forest Green Rovers in League One.

Wales Online have reported that the Bluebirds are ‘weighing’ up a move for him. The Welsh club are currently struggling near the bottom of the Championship.

Wickham, 29, impressed during the first-half of this season at Forest Green and scored nine goals in 20 games for the Gloucestershire outfit. He is now hoping to find a new club for the second-half of the campaign.

Crystal Palace signed him back in 2015 from Sunderland and he spent six years on the books at Selhurst Park. He made 50 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles and scored 11 goals, as well as having a loan spell away at Sheffield Wednesday.

The former Ipswich Town man left the South London club back in the summer of 2021 after his contract expired. He has also since had spells at Preston North End and MK Dons and is on Cardiff’s radar now.

In other news, Crystal Palace have announced they have become the first football club to link up with WeAre8. It is an app that allows people to donate to charities supporting people, animals and the planet.
