Crystal Palace winger Malcolm Ebiowei is in contention to make his Hull City debut this weekend. The youngster was given the green light to join the Tigers on loan during the January transfer window but has been waiting for his first appearance as he recovers from injury.

The 19-year-old has trained with Liam Rosenior’s side this week and is expected to be in their squad for their game on Saturday. The East Yorkshire outfit take on Stoke City away as they look to close the gap on the Championship play-offs.

Ebiowei, who is an England youth international, has been given the number 10 shirt by Hull, which has previously been worn by some of their former favourites like Geovanni and Robert Koren.

Crystal Palace swooped to sign the highly-rated teenager last summer from Derby County and he penned a five-year deal at Selhurst Park. He went away with Patrick Viera’s side for pre-season and has since made five appearances for them in all competitions during the first-half of this season, three of which came in the Premier League.

However, they let him leave on loan this winter to get some more experience under his belt. The Tigers fought off competition from Football League rivals to get him and will be hoping he can fire them into the top six.

In other news, ex-Crystal Palace midfielder Darren Ambrose has said his former teammate Wilfried Zaha has had the chance to join Arsenal and Everton in the past, as per Stadium Astro: “I believe he can play for anyone and not make them worse. It almost happened a while ago when Arsenal and Everton came in.”
