Roy Hodgson is hoping to have first choice goalkeeper Vicente Guaita back for the all-important Premier League game against Leicester this weekend, it will be the first game for the 75-year-old who replaced Patrick Vieira just before the international break.

Spanish goalkeeper Vicente Guaita picked up a hamstring injury in training ahead of the clash against Brighton and Hove Albion and was absent in the heavy defeat to Arsenal too.

However, according to a report in the South London Press,  Vicente Guaita returned to training this week ahead of the resumption of the Premier League this weekend.

The news will be a massive lift to a side that is yet to win a Premier League game this year, and have just fired their manager and had to play 19-year-old Joe Whitworth in goal for the last two games.

The Eagles also have Jordan Ayew and Michael Olise back in training at Copers Cope Road after they travelled across the world to play for their respective countries.

Ayew was in Ghana for their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and flew out with the team for the second leg in Luanda.

While Michael Olise played for the France U21 team during the international break both will be hoping they get back straight in for this weekend’s game against fellow strugglers Leicester City.

Star man Wilfried Zaha has gone 10 games without scoring a goal, having scored six all season- Palace fans will hope he finds his scoring boots this weekend against the visiting Foxes.
