Crystal Palace are on the verge of sealing a move for Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga following the arrival of Jorginho from Chelsea.

Crystal Palace are in the market for a midfielder after losing Conor Gallagher, who was on loan from Chelsea last season, and an injury to the experienced James McArthur.

They also lost Cheikhou Kouyate to Nottingham Forest, leaving their midfield light and needing options especially against teams in the top half of the table.

Patrick Vieira, the captain of the Arsenal Invincibles, still has contacts at Arsenal and seems to have used his network to beat the red tape.

Arsenal are top of the Premier League table and have a real chance of winning their first league title since 2004. They have invested in the experience of Jorginho, leaving Lokonga as surplus to requirements at the Emirates this season.

LondonWorld understands the deal is a loan but Palace are pushing for a purchase option to buy, especially if Lokonga can find the form that made him a big success in Belgium and got him the move to the Premier League.

This season Palace haven’t been as ruthless as last - but they are still 12th on the league table, and have just come off a confidence-boosting result against high-flying Manchester United and Newcastle in the league.

Vieira is attempting to build an exciting side full of young players capable of holding their own against some of the best teams in the country and beyond.
