Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has admitted he is ‘worried’ about the team’s inability to create chances on Sky Sports. The pundit watched on alongside Jamie Redknapp and Graeme Souness as his ex-club drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest.

Graham Potter’s side took the lead at the City Ground through Raheem Sterling and led 1-0 at half-time. However, Forest fought back and levelled it up in the second-half through defender Serge Aurier.

Chelsea responded by bringing on Hakeem Ziyech, Conor Gallagher and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and seemed to take back control of the game. However, they couldn’t find another goal and have left with an underwhelming point.

Hasselbaink delivered his verdict afterwards and said:

“I wouldn’t use the word lightweight but I would agree that it was far from good enough. You know that when you’re winning 1-0, in the second-half Forest need to do something. You know they are going to be more aggressive, more direct.

“You need to be able to cope with that. You need to go and score that second goal but it never looked like they wanted to. What really worries me is that they don’t create chances. You have to come here and win. It doesn’t matter how, you have to come and win here, (they’re) bottom of the league.

“Liverpool didn’t, but forget about Liverpool. You’re talking about yourself now, Chelsea. You need to come here and boss the game and beat them. If you do draw then their best man has to be the (Dean) Henderson (in goal). That hasn’t happened, nothing has been done by him today.”

Chelsea are now 8th in the Premier League table and will be disappointed that they weren’t able to close the gap on the European places. They have picked up 25 points from their first 16 outings and will be eager to bounce back with victory over 2nd position Manchester City next Thursday at Stamford Bridge.
