The January transfer window is just around the corner - business is picking up! Who will Chelsea look to bring in to help salvage their relatively mediocre season so far?
The Blues are reportedly interested in a young Argentinian who shone at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Should they fail to get him, they have a backup option who also played for Argentina in the World Cup.

Chelsea want Enzo Fernandez, with backup option in place
Enzo Fernandez, who is also a Liverpool and Manchester United target, is highly coveted by Chelsea, according to The Times. If they fail to bring him in, they have a backup option in place - Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister.
Fernandez, 21, has scored just a single goal in the Portuguese top division this season, registering three assists. Meanwhile, Mac Allister has five goals for Brighton this season, with no assists. At the World Cup, they each scored a single goal.
However, the Benfica star was named as the Young Player of the Tournament winner at the World Cup and already has European club competition with his club side. Mac Allister though, is well known to Graham Potter from their time together at the AMEX Stadium.

The 24-year-old currently plays for Atletico Madrid - however, his contract does not expire until June 2027, meaning he could command a substantial fee for a player who would likely be used as backup.
At the World Cup, Molina scored a single goal and registered a sole assist. Additionally, he featured in all but one of Argentina’s games. He only moved to the Spanish side in the summer having previously spent two seasons with Udinese in Serie A, having began his career in his homeland with South American giants Boca Juniors.
