Latest news emerges regarding this loaned out Chelsea pair as the January transfer window opens

Chelsea pair Harvey Vale and Xavier Simons could both return to Stamford Bridge this month. The duo are currently on loan at Championship side Hull City but have struggled for game time.

As per a report by Hull Live, there is ‘growing expectation’ that they will both go back to their parent club. Blues goalkeeper Nathan Baxter also remains at the MKM Stadium on a temporary basis and the Tigers are in talks over his future as he continues to deal with injury niggles.

Hull boss Liam Rosenior has said: “We still have to have a conversation and we will come to a conclusion on the three lads who have in my time, been really great characters and we have to make the right decision for their careers.”

Vale, 19, was given the green light to move to East Yorkshire on deadline day in the last transfer window but has played just twice. He is highly-rated at Chelsea and won their Academy Player of the Year last May.

The England youth international has risen up through the academy ranks of the London club and has made five first-team appearances so far in his career. However, with his first loan spell not working out, the Blues have a decision to make on what to do with him next.

Meanwhile, Simons has played just once for Hull and is down the pecking order behind their current options in the middle of the park such as former Fulham ace Jean Michael Seri. The former Brentford midfielder is also only 19 but is facing an uncertain future right now.
