Raheem Sterling is set to be booed by a section of the Manchester City fans when he takes to the field for Chelsea’s game against City in the Carabao Cup this evening. Chelsea signed the 77 time capped England star in the summer after he’d scored 131 goals in 339 games for Pep Guardiola’s team.

Sterling has one goal in his last eight games for Chelsea in all competitions and his relationship with City fans hasn’t been the best since he left the Etihad in the summer. He made an interview where he suggested he only left because he was not treated well by the coaching staff and comes across not being treated with the respect he deserves from a section of the fans.

Manchester City fans have sung Sterling names for the last seven years but will now boo him even if there are some of the fans who will show their appreciation for all his work during his time in Manchester.  Chelsea are under pressure to try and get back to winning ways after defeats to Brighton and Arsenal in the league.

Manchester City themselves haven’t feared too badly since Sterling left after signing Erling Haaland and Julián Álvarez to make up for the loss of goals Sterling’s departure will create. He is likely to be treated with so much respect though from the playing body and staff.
