Hide AdChukwuemeka is yet to make a Premier League appearance this season, but has appeared once in both the Europa Conference League and the Carabao Cup against Barrow when the Blues won 5-0.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Milan could make a move to sign the 21-year-old on a loan deal with an option to buy in January, after they failed to add the midfielder in the summer. The fresh report claims that Carney Chukwuemeka isn’t a top priority signing, however he could be added if one of their ‘not trained in Italy’ players leaves in the January transfer window.
AC Milan said to be are looking at the Chelsea man alongside Real Betis’ Johnny Cardoso who plays a similar role in attacking midfield for both the La Liga side and his national team in the USA.

Hide AdCarney Chukwuemeka’s lack of opportunity since joining Chelsea
The 21-year-old signed for Chelsea in 2022 from Aston Villa for a fee of £15m after he spent the early part of his career coming through the youth system at Villa Park. He ended up making just 16 appearances for Aston Villa before moving to Chelsea.
Since joining Chelsea, Chukwuemeka has struggled to make an impact due to several injury problems. In two years, the midfielder has made 29 appearances for the Blues scoring two goals with one assist.
As Chukwuemeka doesn’t seem to be part of Enzo Maresca’s immediate plans at Chelsea, it could be a good idea for the Blues to cash in on him and sell to AC Milan. However, due to his youthful age, the midfielder’s value could increase due to his potential to develop further. His current market value is estimated to be between £10m and £15m.

Chukwuemeka won’t be the first ex-Chelsea man to move to the San Siro if it was to happen, seeing as the Italian side currently has five former Chelsea players in their squad.
Fikayo Tomori, Tammy Abraham and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all came through the youth academy at Chelsea but now find themselves all lining up in black and red at the San Siro. The Blues were able to sell the trio for a total of £78 million.
Furthermore, Christian Pulisic and Alvaro Morata are also at the club after both having spells at Stamford Bridge. Morata was at Chelsea between 2017 and 2020 scoring 24 goals in 72 appearances.
