Chelsea player ratings vs Barrow: 'terrific' 9/10, five 8/10s but one 'slow' 6/10 in comprehensive win

The player ratings from Chelsea’s impressive League Cup win over League One side Barrow.

Christopher Nkunku helped himself to a terrific hat-trick as Chelsea easily beat League One side Barrow 5-0 to progress to the next round of the League Cup. João Félix scored a brilliant free kick, while Pedro Neto opened his account for the club in what was truly a one-sided affair at Stamford Bridge.

Ben Chilwell made a return to the team for the first time this season, coming on in the second half to help secure what was undoubtedly one of the most comfortable evenings at Stamford Bridge in recent history.

Here’s how we rated the Chelsea players:

Filip Jörgensen - 6

Barely had any saves to make in the first half.

Malo Gusto - 8

Got the assist for Nkunku’s second goal. Then came alive after, with flicks, touches, and an overall impressive game.

Axel Disasi - 7

Calm and very assured with every touch. You know what you get with the Frenchman.

Benoît Badiashile - 7

For him, it was just about minutes, as the opposition barely tested the backline. He will have tougher days.

Renato Veiga - 6

Came across as a bit slow today but gave his best nonetheless.

Cesare Casadei - 7

Eager to get involved and make his mark. Played well within range and was consistently guided by his manager.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - 7

Another player who could have done more, but given it felt like a training session, not much can be read into it.

Pedro Neto - 7

Lively and very willing early on. Then scored his goal early in the second half.

João Félix - 8

Brilliantly set up the game with a well-taken assist for Nkunku’s goal. Then reminded everyone of his quality with a well-taken free kick to make it 3-0.

Mykhailo Mudryk - 7

Played well in patches. Got his assist, though you feel he should have tried to score himself.

Christopher Nkunku - 9

Eight goals for Chelsea since he signed. Showed real quality with his first goal tonight. He has more goals than starts for the club and bettered his tally with a brilliant deft touch.

Tyrique George - 6

Brought on with 20 minutes to go and should have scored after being set up by Nkunku.

Joshua Acheampong - 6

His second action was a foul, but he stayed on to contribute.

Carney Chukwuemeka - 6

Looked eager to come on and, when he did, tried to make an impact.
