Newcastle United vs Chelsea team news with 7 outs and 1 doubt as Magpies seek revenge
Chelsea and Newcastle United meet again on Wednesday, days after the Blues beat the Magpies 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea will look to make it two wins against Newcastle United in the space of four days as the London outfit makes the long journey up to Tyneside in Carabao Cup action on Wednesday night.
With a Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday, Enzo Maresca will no doubt look to rotate his squad and give different players a run out under the lights at St James' Park.
Here's your Newcastle United vs Chelsea team news.
Newcastle United team news
Eddie Howe had hoped that striker Callum Wilson could return to the matchday squad against Chelsea last weekend but that proved not to be the case. The former AFC Bournemouth man hasn't played since May and is edging closer to a return, but the second match against the Blues and the upcoming clash with Arsenal are set to come too soon.
Winger Anthony Gordon was also nowhere to be seen at Stamford Bridge on Sunday but could be in contention for the cup tie on Wednesday with Howe pointing to that being a shorter term issue. He said: "Gordon felt his groin in training on Friday. He travelled with the hope he would make the game but he hasn’t. It is an undoubted blow but Harvey [Barnes] comes in with his own qualities and I still like the team we have."
The majority of injury concerns come at the back for the Magpies. Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman are long term lay-offs and Kieran Trippier isn't expected to return from a hamstring injury until the end of November.
Matt Targett is another who has been absent for months and goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has a knee injury and will miss his chance of cup action.
Chelsea team news

Enzo Maresca is blessed with an almost fully fit Chelsea squad during this busy phase of the fixture calendar. Former Ipswich Town and Derby County starlet Omari Kellyman is the only concern for the Blues.
The summer signing had been linked with a loan move in the summer but nothing materialised due to an injury. Kellyman confirmed the blow earlier this season in what he described as 'another' long term hamstring injury - he is yet to make his senior Chelsea debut.
