As covered by LondonWorld, Chelsea want to conclude a deal to land Pochettino by the end of the week. The 51-year-old guided Spurs to the Champions League final back in 2019 and was a popular figure during his time in North London. He has also had spells at Espanyol and Southampton in the past.

Julien Nagelsmann latest

LondonWorld understands Julien Nagelsmann has been looked at by the Blues following his recent sacking by Bayern Munich. However, he is now seen as an ‘ideal candidate’ at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium instead.

Other contenders

Other names have been in the frame for the Chelsea vacancy as well. BBC Sport report that former Spain and Barcelona manager Luis Enrique had been among the contenders along with Burnley boss Vincent Kompany. The latter has guided his side to promotion from the Championship this term.

Backroom additions

Should the Blues secure Pochettino’s signature, he would be joined by his trusted assistants Jesus Perez and Toni Jimenez, according to Football Insider. The pair have worked with him in the past and would join him for his new challenge.
