Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed Moises Caicedo could potentially return for the game against Aston Villa today.

The Ecuador international returned from international duty with an injury and missed the game against Bournemouth last weekend but his manager who has won all his last four games against Aston Villa admitted he will have to pass a late fitness test before he joins the team for this afternoon’s game.

Pochettino told the press ahead of the game at Stamford: “Moi we need to assess tomorrow, he was training in an individual way, not with the team until today.

“We need to assess tomorrow and see for Sunday. Marc suffered a fever and is back when we restarted training. Noni was involved also during the week in training.

“Maybe we need one day more, maybe Armando Broja can be involved, maybe Sunday. Not sure, we need to assess him tomorrow. We need to recover players and it is important many players start to be available to be involved again.”

Mauricio Pochettino has won his last four matches against Villa in all competitions and that should lift the Argentine manager as he goes in search of only his second league win as Blues boss after a really rough start to life at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have only won two of their 17 most recent league matches, accruing 12 points during that time so expect to hear some boos if the Blues can not get all three points to ease the nerves that is beginning to grow in west London.
