Mauricio Pochettino has just ruled out another £80m star from the game against Blackburn

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has been breaking down the health and form of his players ahead of the League Cup game.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino says Mykhaylo Mudryk is definetly out of the game against Blackburn Rovers in the League Cup but could still be ready for the league game against Tottenham next week.

The Blues boss also confirmed he was looking to start a strong team even though there were some of his first teamers who were tired and didn’t want to risk it.

The Chelsea boss told the press on Tuesday afternoon: “We are going to be really important for us and we going to put a up strong team but some players need a rest and so we have to be mindful of the risk.”

The Chelsea manager also confirmed he would not be thninking about the league game against Tottenham when he picks the team for tomorrow night.

He added: “No, we are not going to take decisions tomorrow while thinking of Monday.”

Chelsea have had a tough start to the season, winning only three of their first 10 games, losing for and drawing three and currently sat 12th on the league table.

The defeat to Brentford has turned the pressure back on Pochettino who led the team to impressive wins against Fulham and Brentford. They also had an impressive draw against Arsenal before losing to Brentford at home.

The League Cup games have fairly been favourably so you’d expect that Chelsea are able to channel their league disappointment into progressing to the next round of the Cup comptition.
