Pep Guardiola rules out £100m star from Manchester City vs Chelsea Premier League game

Chelsea are likely to be without eight players for their visit to the Etihad while Pep rules out Grealish.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says Jack Grealish will miss their all-important Premier League game against Chelsea tomorrow. The England star picked up a knock against FC Copenhagen in midweek and there had been hopes that he could recover in time for Chelsea's visit, but Guardiola says he will not be ready.

He told reporters ahead of the game: "Jack I think will not be ready and Bernardo will be assessed in the training session. "Kova is back training at least and Sergio is back. The rest we will see when we arrive."

They will however take a second look at Bernardo Silva who also left the pitch with pain in midweek. Chelsea have won their last two games, including a 3-1 win over Aston Villa in the FA Cup and a come-from-behind win against Crystal Palace

Asked what he thought of the Blues, Guardiola described Mauricio Pochettino's side as an 'exceptional team'. He added: "It's an exceptional team in all departments - one of the toughest games we have until the end of the season. They're playing really good in the last games."

Manchester City have won 11 consecutive games in all competitions and are huge favourites for this one, while Chelsea have won 10, lost 10 and drawn 4 of their 24 league games so far.

There are 14 league games left to play this season and Chelsea will boost their chances of returning to Europe if they can go to the Etihad and take all three points.
