Tottenham Hotspur have succeeded in their ambitions to include an option-to-buy clause in their hard fought loan of Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel.
It's been the story of Deadline Day as the 19-year-old made a U-turn on his decision not to join Spurs, much to the disappointment of Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal, who had also been linked with the player. The forward landed in London from Germany today and is set to become a Tottenham Hotspur player as Deadline Day draws to a close.

Taking to social media platform X on Monday evening, he wrote: "Mathys Tel has signed his contract at Tottenham… with buy option included in the loan agreement.
"Bayern have accepted the conditions as Spurs will cover the salary until June + have chance to trigger the clause for €60m in the summer. Tel completed his medical today."
Ange Postecoglou convinced Tel to join Spurs
Sky Sports reported that Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich had shook hands on a £50 million permanent transfer for the player last week but that Tel had decided he was not keen on the move. Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is then believed to have had a long conversation with the player and convinced him that the project at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was the right one for him.
Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg said: "This is a very good solution for Tel, Tottenham and Bayern. He has reconsidered his decision. He was in talks with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham. I'm convinced that in the end Spurs have presented the best project in order to get match practice. This is the most important for Tel.

Crystal Palace send defender to Sheffield United
Meanwhile, elsewhere in London, Crystal Palace have given the green light to Rob Holding to join Championship side Sheffield United in another late deal. The Blades are pushing for promotion back to the top flight but saw key man Harry Souttar pick up an injury at the end of December.
Chris Wilder has been in the market for a defender since then with links to QPR man Jimmy Dunne and Millwall defender Japhet Tanganga. However, the Blades have finally completed a move for former Arsenal man Holding.
Announcing the deal shortly before 10 pm, Sheffield United celebrated an 'impressive' signing in a statement on the club website.

Hide AdWilder said: "We've been light in the central defensive area ever since Harry Souttar's injury, so we're delighted to add Rob, a player who has played the game at the highest level for a number of years.
"It is the last remaining piece of the jigsaw and whilst we have had to wait until deadline day to get this one boxed off, I think our patience has been justified by getting Rob over the line.
"He's played in some huge games during his time with Arsenal, so he'll relish the situation he's walking into. He'll compete with the likes of Anel, Jack and others, and joins a squad which is looking far healthier than the one we had at the start of the window, as we look to attack the remaining part of the season."
