Chelsea vs Crystal Palace: Chelsea missing 11 first team players

Chelsea will be without eleven first team players when they take on Crystal Palace - meanwhile, the Eagles will miss out on just two players.

As Chelsea and Crystal Palace move towards their game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, January 15, the Blues are in a major injury crisis. Palace, on the other hand, are close to a clean bill of health.

Chelsea are expected to be without eleven of their first team players. Some of them have been out for some time already, but there are also a slew of new injury concerns - plus one suspension.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace do not have such concerns at this point in time. They’re only missing two first teamers through injury, with a third set to make his return after being suspended.

Chelsea injury news

As mentioned, Chelsea will be without eleven senior players for their game against Crystal Palace. Among the new absentees are Raheem Sterling, Christian Pulisic, Denis Zakaria and the suspended Joao Felix. Zakaria is Chelsea’s newest injury concern, as he limped off in the second half of Chelsea’s last game against Fulham.

Felix will miss the Crystal Palace game after receiving a straight red card for a shocking challenge on Kenny Tete. Pulisic is out with a knee injury, while Sterling reportedly has a problem with his thigh.

The rest of Chelsea’s absentees are as follows: Ben Chilwell, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Armando Broja, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Edouard Mendy and N’Golo Kante. Of the players mentioned, Fofana could be the first to return - however, this will reportedly not happen until the end of January.

Crystal Palace injury news

Crystal Palace have very few injury worries ahead of their game against Chelsea. They have no new players out - James McArthur and Nathan Ferguson still remain sidelined, however.

Tyrick Mitchell will also return to the squad, following the expiration of his suspension. Like Joao Felix, he was also sent off in a game against Fulham.
