Chelsea midfielder Xavier Simons is reportedly wanted by Charlton Athletic, Oxford United, Leyton Orient and Salford City. The youngster is currently on loan at Hull City in the Championship.

However, according to a report by the Evening Standard, the teenager could be recalled by the Blues in this January transfer window and is attracting interest from elsewhere. Winger Harvey Vale may also be brought back from his stint with the Tigers.

Simons, 19, was given the green light to join the East Yorkshire outfit over the summer to get some more experience under his belt. However, he has struggled for game time and has made just one league appearances.

The Tigers’ boss Liam Rosenior has apparently promised more game time for him but he faces strong competition for his spot from the likes of Jean Michael Seri, Ryan Woods and Regan Slater and is down the pecking order. A fresh switch away somewhere else could allow him to get some more regular minutes to boost his development.

Simons has been on the books at Chelsea for his whole career to date and has risen up through the academy ranks of the Premier League outfit. The Londoner has played once for the Blues’ first-team so far in his career and that came in a Carabao Cup clash against Brentford in 2021.
