The Blues have enjoyed a successful trip to the States with wins over Wrexham, Brighton and Hove Albion and Fulham sitting alongside an eventful draw with Newcastle United as Mauricio Pochettino’s men have enjoyed a productive start to their preparations for the new Premier League season.

Now all focus turns towards their final pre-season friendly of an impressive summer and taking the next step to what they hope will be a successful season in a number of competitions.

Where and when does the game take place?

Chelsea will face the Bundesliga giants at the 61,500 capacity Soldier Field, home of NFL side Chicago Bears and MLS club Chicago Fire. The game will take place at 1.30am (BST) on Thursday 3rd August.

What is the latest team news ahead of the game?

Chelsea will definitely be without French defender Wesley Fofana after he underwent surgery on an anterior cruciate ligament injury last week. Armando Broja and Benoit Badiashile are both missing as they continue to work their way back from injury.

Dortmund are without Germany centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck and Julien Duranville.

Speaking after the friendly win against Fulham on Sunday, the Blues boss said: “It is a busy time but I think we are doing a good job, the players and the staff.

“It has been a busy four games in a very short period of time and now we play in Chicago against Dortmund and we need to continue. We keep going and prepare the team to arrive in the best condition for the Premier League.”
