Juventus and Italy star Federico Chiesa is a shock target for Chelsea as Thomas Tuchel looks to bolster his attacking options.

The winger, who has enjoyed a breakout season in Turin, could move to the blues for around £84 million.

The transfer may be hard to pull off, as Juventus may be offered first refusal on the winger as he is currently on loan at the Serie A giants from fellow Serie A club Fiorentina.

Chiesa, who is the son of Enrico Chiesa, was in the youth system at Fiorentina for 9 years, from 2007 and graduated in 2016, and made 137 appearances for Fiorentina before joining Juventus on loan in 2020.

His father, Enrico, enjoyed a long playing career and is well known in Italy as his career spanned from 1988 to 2010, playing for the likes of Lazio, Fiorentina and Sampdoria. As well as being somewhat of a journeyman in Italy, he also made 17 appearances for the national side, scoring 7 goals.

Since his move to Juventus, Chiesa has been a breakout star, and has often been the talisman for The Old Lady, filling the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo, helping his team to beat Chelsea, a feat not achieved by many.

In 41 appearances for Juventus, the 24-year-old has scored 9 goals.

He also rose to prominence on the global stage, as he was a major factor in Italy’s Euro 2020 triumph, as they beat England at Wembley in the final.

He was praised throughout the tournament for his blistering pace, constant energy, eye for goal and mouth-watering dribbling.

Chiesa scored Italy’s only goal of the game in the semi-finals against Spain, as Italy beat Spain on penalties, with Chiesa getting Star of the Match.

With rumours of Christian Pulisic being targeted by Genoa, Chiesa could be his replacement, but with the recent emergence of Callum-Hudson Odoi, will Tuchel still target the winger?
