As well as winning club football’s most celebrated trophy, Jorginho also lifted the Euros with Italy, beating England on penalties at Wembley in the final.

Kante and Jorginho were both instrumental in the Champions League with and without them, it’s arguable they don’t win, and the same goes for Jorginho with Italy.

Their form has carried over to this season.

Kante has suffered with minor injuries, but they have both been massive reasons along with full backs Ben Chilwell and Reece James as to why Chelsea currently sit top of the Premier League.

And a true testament to how Chelsea have been transformed recently are the off-the-field accolades.

At the Golden Boy awards, Marina Granovskaia was named the Best Club Director in European Football.

It’s quite astonishing the tables have turned so quickly for Chelsea.

After their Premier League title win under new Spurs boss Antonio Conte, they lost talisman Eden Hazard, lost Conte, hired and fire Maurizio Sarri and had a transfer ban.

Frank Lampard came in during the transfer ban and had a good first season, promoting youth players such as Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham, more through force than choice and Chelsea, against the odd, qualified for the Champions League.

Lampard’s second season didn’t go well, and he was sacked, replaced with German Thomas Tuchel, and from there Chelsea’s fortunes changed. Tuchel switched to a 5-3-2 and started to dominate.
