Chelsea have played their opening six league matches without a front of shirt sponsor

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly will receive a £40m boost ahead of the January transfer window.

The Blues have kicked off the season in lacklustre fashion and they have picked up just one win from their opening six matches under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

The London outfit have played all their games this season with no sponsor on the front of their shirt after the expiration of their deal with the mobile phone company Three at the end of last season.

Talks of a deal with online casino company Stake.com broke down earlier this summer, while another deal with Paramount Plus was blocked by the Premier League.

But Todd Boehly has finally agreed a deal with Infinite Athlete to become their new shirt sponsor. Reports from The Guardian state that a deal worth £40m has been given the green light by the Premier League.

The deal comes as major relief to officials at Chelsea who have endured difficulties both on and off the pitch since their takeover in the summer of 2022.

The Blues endured a miserable season last term which saw them finish in the bottom half of the table, whilst also failing to qualify for European football.

Chelsea will hope to return to Europe’s elite table this season and they are also targeting their first trophy of the Bohely era after a huge period of success under Roman Abrahmovich.

The Infinite Athlete logo is unlikely to make its debut in Chelsea’s Carabao Cup tie against Brighton, but fans will likely see the new sponsor during the Premier League game against Fulham on Monday.

The new sponsor will also appear on the shirt of the women’s team who are aiming for another successful season under the guidance of Emma Hayes.

It remains to be seen whether or not Infinite Athlete will be the front-of-shirt sponsor just for this season, or whether the deal will continue past the current campaign.

Infinite Athlete is a private company that syncs every piece of sports data to allow people to build and develop new products. The company initially looked at stadium naming rights deals across the globe before making an offer to become Chelsea’s new front-of-shirt sponsor, according to reports from The Telegraph.
