Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is likely to ask to be allowed to leave for more game time elsewhere if the club are successful in signing Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana according to the Evening Standard.
The defender was quite confident that with the departure of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, he would gain a prominent role in the team, but he’s barely had a chance this season.

Hide AdChelsea have made their pursuit of 21-year-old Fofana public with the only thing holding up the deal being Leicester City’s strong resolve to get a world record deal for the young defender.
Chelsea are determined to sign the defender but they feel they can beat down the price as they go about strengthening their squad.
The purchase of Fofana is likely to force defender Trevoh Chalobah out of the team further with captain Cesar Azpilicueta also capable of playing in central defence in the back three that manager Thomas Tuchel prefers.
Defender Reece James can also be used in the back three depending on opposition and the game plan of the manager.

Hide AdChelsea have already allowed Malang Sarr to join Monaco and will have to make a big call on Trevoh Chalobah who came through the club’s ranks and was one of the shining lights of last season.
The fact that Thomas Tuchel is chasing Fofana who is likely to come in for a huge sum of money is evidence that Thomas Tuchel doesn’t completely think Chalobah is ready to be the main man for the season.
With the likes of Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly and a litany of young players being brought in throughout the club this summer, many changes are expected this window and in January and are likely to shape the club.
