Chelsea ‘ramp up’ interest in Barcelona star as further talks scheduled to firm up bid

Chelsea is looking to add quality to its attacking line with its strong interest in a former Arsenal star.

Chelsea are scheduled to hold further talks with Barcelona as they look to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.

The Blues are desperate for attacking enforcement and have identified the former Arsenal man as the ideal choice to lead them this season.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel worked with  Aubameyang at Dortmund and they formed a great partnership which the German manager is looking to rekindle.

The Gabonese striker spent two years with Thomas Tuchel and scored an astonishing 79 goals in 95 appearances.

That brilliant goal scoring form continued even when Tuchel left Dortmund to join PSG but both have stayed in touch and Tuchel is reported to be keen on bringing him back to south west London.

Barcelona manager Xavi is also determined to keep the striker but won’t stand his way if he wanted to leave.

Chelsea have already signed Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly as replacement for Antonio Rudiger, who left after his contract expired this summer.

New owners; same Chelsea

The Blues have been quite active in the transfer window as they look to continue the success they’ve enjoyed during the Roman Abramovich era.

Todd Boehly has been actively working and that has seen the likes of Marc Cucurella and Raheem Sterling arrive to strengthen the squad.

The target is to continue to be competitive and challenge for both the league and the Champions League.

They have also agreed personal terms with Wesley Fofana who Leicester are looking for a world record deal.
