Summer target flattered by interest

Chelsea-linked Denzel Dumfries has admitted that he was ‘flattered’ by summer interest in him.

The Inter Milan and Holland defender ended up staying at the San Siro beyond the transfer deadline, despite strong speculation that he was a wanted man in the last window.

As per reporter Pete O’Rourke, the player is grateful that clubs were keen on him:

The 24-year-old has scored six goals in 11 games already this term in all competitions and reached a tally of 35 in the last campaign.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed in his CaughtOffside column that he has admirers at Stamford Bridge:

“There will be many clubs in the race for Nkunku next summer, including Chelsea as they’ve always been interested and attentive to his growth.”
