Chelsea’s transfer strength is showing no sign of slowing down with the Blues triggering the release clause of Michael Olise and having a bid for Southampton’s Romeo Lavia accepted.

The signing of Lavia is expected to follow that of Moises Ciacedo who was confirmed on Monday following three months of negotiations that saw Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp briefly confirm his side had agreed a deal with Brighton for the 21-year-old.

He told reporters ahead of the game against Chelsea last weekend: “I have been told I can confirm that we have agreed a deal with Brighton for Caicedo even though I can’t say when a medical will be done.”

Klopp later then backtracked after the game to say Chelsea normally get what they want after the midfielder politely told them he was only interested in joining Chelsea.

In the process, Liverpool also look to have lost out on Romeo Lavia who was their prime summer target with the Belgian midfielder also set to complete his Chelsea medical in the coming days.

Chelsea then triggered the release clause of Crystal Palace star Michael Olise who only returned to the pitch this week because of an injury he picked up while playing for the France under-21 team this summer.

The Blues are also still expected to bring in a striker and another goalkeeper following the sudden exit of Kepa Arrizabalaga to Real Madrid in the summer.

Chelsea have spent almost £900million in the last year but have shipped out almost 20 players already including 10 first-team players with Ben Chilwell, Reece James and Thiago Silva the only players still left at the club who won the Champions League under Thomas Tuchel.
