Moises Caicedo has been given a friendly welcome after completing a record-breaking move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea stars have taken no time to welcome new signing Moises Caicedo to the club with some light-hearted ribbing on his first full day as a Blues player.

Chelsea confirmed the signing of Caicedo for a British-record fee of £115 million from Brighton after the midfielder turned down a move to Liverpool last week.

The 21-year-old joined Brighton from Independiente del Valle in 2021 and went on to impress at the AMEX, winning the club's Player of the Season Award at the end of last season.

Caicedo becomes Chelsea's 10th signing of the summer window and takes spending up to an eye-watering £285 million as Mauricio Pochettino looks to rebuild a squad that endured a 12th-place finish in the top flight last season - the club's worst since 1994.

Despite all the new faces, Pochettino's side seems to have gelled well this summer with moments of promise against Liverpool in Sunday's 1-1 draw. As Caicedo took part in his first full day of training, it was clear he had been afforded a friendly welcome from his new teammates.

Chelsea defender and vice-captain Ben Chilwell took no time to hang out with the defensive midfielder and accompanied the new arrival as he took his first ice bath after training.

The Ecuadorian whimpered and covered his face with a towel as he grinned while summoning the courage to submerge himself in the chilly water. A giggling Chilwell was on hand to encourage the star and wrote: "Can't hack the ice bath bro?"

Speaking after his move to Chelsea became official, Caicedo shared his excitement to get started at Stamford Bridge ahead of a busy Premier League season. He said: "I am so happy to join Chelsea! I am so excited to be here at this big club and I didn’t have to think twice when Chelsea called me, I just knew I wanted to sign for the club. It’s a dream come true to be here and I can’t wait to get started with the team."
