Chelsea midfielder Xavier Simons will be staying at Hull City on a permanent basis. The youngster has been on loan with the Championship side this season and has done enough to land himself a long-term move to the MKM Stadium.
As per BBC Humberside reporter David Burns on Twitter (see tweet below), the Tigers’ boss Liam Rosenior has announced the deal this weekend. The 19-year-old played his first 90 minutes for the East Yorkshire outfit as they drew 0-0 with Preston North End and caught the eye in the middle of the park.

Hide AdChelsea gave him the green light to head out on loan for the first time in his career last summer to help him get some more experience under his belt. He has struggled for game time this term with Hull and has only made four appearances in all competitions so far. However, he is highly-rated by Rosenior and is seen as one for the future.
Simons, who is from Hammersmith, is an England youth international and made the switch to Stamford Bridge from fellow London club Brentford back in 2016. He has since made one senior appearance for the Blues but is being allowed to leave Graham Potter’s side permanently.
His pathway into the first-team at Chelsea is blocked by the abundance of options they have in his position at the club. A move to the Football League will give him a chance to get more opportunities in the long run.
