Chelsea are reportedly poised to sell Xavier Simons to Hull City. The midfielder is a man in-demand but the Tigers are in the driving seat to land his signature ahead of other clubs.

According to the Evening Standard, Liam Rosenior’s side have ‘agreed’ a deal to sign him on a permanent basis. The report adds that Burnley, Charlton Athletic, Millwall and Bristol City are keen on him. However, they are all set to miss out.

Hull have until the deadline this evening to get a deal over the line. Simons, who is 19-years-old, is currently on loan with the East Yorkshire outfit.

Chelsea let him head to the MKM Stadium in the summer transfer window to get some game time under his belt to help boost his development. He has struggled for opportunities so far this term and has only played twice in the Championship.

Rosenior is believed to be a fan though and wants him under his wing on a long-term basis. Simons has been on the books at Stamford Bridge for his whole career to date.

In other Chelsea news, midfielder Jorginho has completed his switch to Arsenal. His contract was up at the end of this campaign.
