Manchester City are looking at Ben Chilwell from Chelsea as a replacement for Joao Cancelo who will join Bayern Munich at least until the end of this season.

The Portuguese right-back has left Manchester City after a reported bust up with manager Pep Guardiola and his departure has left City short in both right and left side of defence.

Benjamin Mendy’s contract will expire this summer and he has been suspended by the club for almost two years.

So City will look to add a fresh face who can offer both the attacking and defensive duties at the highest level.

Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell has faced the arrival of competition in Marc Cucurella and even though Chilwell has looked good whenever he’s played, injuries have plagued his form since he joined from Leicester City - and a move away could be an interesting preposition.

Pep Guardiola has a strong reputation of bringing the best out of players and according to a report on the Daily Mail, the Spanish manager has turned his attention to Chilwell and could make a move for him this summer.

Chelsea are undergoing a re-building process - but Chilwell still remains a key part of their play and it will be interesting to see how they react to an approach from the Premier League Champions.

Manchester City are still with a huge chance to catch Arsenal while Chelsea will be lucky to get top four football given how they have played since Graham Potter took over.
