Chelsea have nine players out injured the second most in the Premier League

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino admits losing Mykhailo Mudryk at this time is ‘disappointing’ especially after his 45-minute show against West Ham.

The Ukranian star has failed to get going after signing for £89million last January but with Carney Chukwuemeka injured this would have been a perfect opportunity to get him some consistency. “I think maybe a few days. He is not going to be available for tomorrow. Very disappointed because of the situation,” the Chelsea boss said.

The Ukranian missed a chance to connect with a Raheem Sterling cross in the 2-1 defeat to 10-player West Ham- but Pochettino is adamant that the former Arsenal target can perform, and that all he needs to do is stay fit.

“He played 45 minutes against West Ham. He is a player we hope to help play in the way believe he can perform. Disappointed but at the same time it is not a big issue. Maybe one week or a few days,” he added.

Chelsea are looking for their first win of the season after one draw and a loss against West Ham last weekend. They have been hit with a huge number of injuries- nine, which makes them the second-highest number of teams with players on the treatment table.

On team news, the Chelsea manager also hinted, that new signing Moises Caicedo might be ready to start after only coming off the bench against West Ham.

He also admits Romeo Lavia, who was joined from Southampton is not quite ready though. He added: “Mo yes is ready to start. Lavia no.

“He needs a few weeks to be ready to be involved with the team. He is working to try and catch his teammates. For Romeo, we need to wait a few weeks but Moises is ready.”
