Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca became the first Chelsea manager to ensure the team won three home games in three different competitions after their 4-2 victory over Belgian side Gent.
The impressive Italian has led his team to home wins against Barrow in the League Cup, supervised the demolition of Brighton in the Premier League, and now achieved a win in the Conference League.

Pochettino did not compete in the Champions League, and although he did reach the final of the League Cup, he didn’t manage to secure three wins in different competitions that followed each other.
This win ensured Chelsea kept their hopes of winning the Conference League alive in what was generally a dominant performance, even if they could have scored more.
The Chelsea manager also gave French defender Axel Disasi the captain’s armband in the absence of trio Reece James, Ben Chilwell, and Enzo Fernandez, who has stepped up into the leadership group since Conor Gallagher left the club.

This move is another example of the new leadership and inclusive approach the Italian manager is taking. Maresca has been able to turn things around in the league, with four wins, one draw, and just one defeat against champions Manchester City.
The overall performances have been solid, and there is genuine optimism that this could be the season they get back to competing for significant honours.
