Chelsea could secure alternative Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang deal as Tottenham enter loan move ‘talks’

Chelsea and Tottenham have endured very different fortunes in the early stages of the season.

The Blues have already picked up a habit of dropping points, suffering another surprise defeat on Tuesday as they fell short against Southampton.

Meanwhile, Tottenham continud their fine start to the season over the weekend by defeating Nottingham Forest, and they face West Ham United on Wednesday.

On Thursday night, we have the transfer deadline, and both clubs could well add to their squads before then.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding both clubs.

Aubameyang latest

Chelsea are now said to be considering a loan deal for Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a bid to beat the deadline.

That’s according to David Ornstein, who says a loan deal could now be an option, with the Blues struggling to agree a fee with Barcelona.

In the meantime, Aubameyang has been the victim of an assault, suffering a minor fracture to his jaw while attempting to defend his family in a home burglary.

Neymar opportunity

Chelsea are said to have been offered the chance to sign Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar Jr.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who say PSG are concerned with being caught out with Financial Fair Play rules.

As a result, they are said to be offering out high-earner Neymar, with Chelsea offered the chance to sign the Brazilian.

This one seems a little unlikely, especially at this stage in the window.

Dan James talks

Tottenham are said to be pushing for a deal to sign Leeds United star Daniel James.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed Spurs are in talks over a loan deal with an option to buy, but they are not the only interested club.

Romano tweeted: “Tottenham are back in negotiations with Leeds for Daniel James. Been told talks are ongoing on loan deal with buy option — but there are also other clubs...

“Up to the player, as he’s happy @ Leeds and has to decide. No movements around Ziyech or Carrasco as of now.”
