'Deal done' - Charlton Athletic complete 11th transfer as ex Luton Town and Oxford United man signs
Nathan Jones has brought another former player to The Valley.
Charlton Athletic have completed their 11th piece of transfer business this summer by recruiting former Luton Town and Oxford United striker Danny Hylton as a player-coach on a short-term deal.

The Addicks boss Nathan Jones had previously shared his intent to make the most of the free agent market following Deadline Day and the Welshman has followed through on that with the club confirming the deal on Wednesday afternoon.
Hylton has been recruited for his experience of three EFL promotions. Two of those were achieved at Nathan Jones' old club Luton Town. He also helped Northampton Town into League One via the League Two play-offs in 2023.
The player had featured for the Addicks in pre-season, scoring in the 6-1 win at Dartford. Jones has welcomed the signing this week.
He told the club website: “Danny is someone I know very, very well who is a true professional. He will be an important member of our squad and coaching team. He will push and educate our players and he will live and breathe the club. When needed, he will be someone we can rely on for something different on the pitch.
“He has been with us since the summer and this role is the start of his coaching journey, and I have no doubt he will continue to have a positive impact on our group.”

Hylton began his career at Aldershot Town before spells at Rotherham United and Oxford United. The striker signed for Luton Town in 2016 and went on to make 170 appearances for the club, bagging 62 goals as the Hatters climbed up the football pyramid.
The new Charlton man left Luton Town in 2022 with the club in the Championship and spent two years with Northampton Town before his release at the end of last season. Hylton managed just four league appearances in League One last season.
