'We'd like' - Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones teases next transfer in 54-word message
Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones has admitted that he 'would like' to add extra quality to his Addicks squad by making the most of the free agent market.
It was a quiet Deadline Day for the London outfit with the League One club working hard to get its business done earlier on in the summer transfer window. Charlton Athletic brought in nine players during the market in a bid to avoid another relegation dogfight this season.

Charlton Athletic sit in sixth place as it stands but only one point separates the side and league leaders Stockport County at this early stage.
Speaking to London News Online after the close of the transfer window, Jones hinted that despite a busy summer, there could be further new faces arriving at The Valley. Even after the close of the window, clubs can sign free agent players, so long as there is space to register them in the squad.
When asked about the free transfer market, Jones replied: "We’ll see what we are able to do. We’ve had a good window. We’ve strengthened the squad considerably, significantly. We’d like to keep adding a bit more quality. We know we can’t compete with certain people and so on. But it’s been a good window. We’ve brought in people that have significantly improved us.”

Charlton Athletic are next in action on Saturday against Rotherham United with the fixture confirmed to be going ahead despite the international break.
