Charlton Athletic vs Wycombe Wanderers early injury news as 3 ruled out and 1 doubt for play-off semi-final
An early look at the injury news surrounding Charlton Athletic and Wycombe Wanderers ahead of the League One semi-final second leg on Thursday night.
Charlton Athletic go into their League One play-off semi-final second leg on level terms after a goalless draw at Adams Park. It was a hard-fought first leg and a very equal one, with neither side dominating, while there were few clear-cut opportunities.

Speaking after the cagey first leg, Charlton boss Nathan Jones said: “It was a really tough game, they came out of the traps and were direct and front-footed. They played a front three with pace, tried to play everything forward, so we had to show a resilient side to us today and we did really, really well. It was evenly poised throughout the tie and in all honesty I felt we finished the stronger – that’s really pleasing.
“Half-way through the tie – there was nothing really to separate anyone. Coming away from home to a side in the play-offs and keeping a clean sheets – that’s really pleasing. The only minor disappointment is that we didn’t nick a goal, sometimes you don’t get everything. It sets us up nicely for a wonderful tie on Thursday.”
Attention now turns to the second leg at The Valley on Thursday night, and they will be hoping to make their home advantage count to book a spot at the Wembley final. Ahead of the second leg, we have rounded up the early injury news surrounding both sides, with Charlton having seen Thierry Small, Luke Berry and Lloyd Jones all pass fit for the first leg.
Sam Vokes - Out
Sam Vokes has been ruled out for the play-offs, with Wycombe explaining in a statement: “Striker Vokes suffered a broken arm after falling awkwardly following an aerial duel soon after coming off the bench against Stockport County, and will undergo an operation this week.”
Josh Scowen - Out
A statement also confirmed Scowen’s absence for the post-season fixtures. It read: “Scowen was the victim of a poor challenge at Leyton Orient seven days earlier and scans have revealed anterior cruciate ligament damage which requires surgery and a lengthy period of rehabilitation.”
Miles Leaburn - Out
Leaburn is out for the season. Jones said at the time: “It has been a productive one because it was probably more productive than last year. It is a step up. He has been part of a real progression and evolution process here. And he is one that will only get better. He needs a certain amount of work around his body, and so on, to get the durability back but he has been fantastic – in how he has trained and come back from that, mentally and physically. It was really innocuous how he picked up this injury and that is the frustrating thing for us.”
Gassan Ahadme - Doubt
Jones said after the Wrexham game: “We lost Gassan (Ahadme), we lost Ashley Maynard-Brewer, we lost Lloyd (Jones). Lloyd hasn’t trained all week, he’s been on more painkillers than I can imagine and he wasn’t right today.” Ahadme has now missed the last two games and he will remain a doubt here after missing the first leg.
