What Nathan Jones has said about Charlton Athletic’s chances

Jones told the South London Press of the upcoming play-off semi-finals: “We are in a wonderful place, all four teams are. When we embarked on the season would all four have taken the position they are in now? I think you would’ve been a brave man to argue with it – considering the quality of teams in the league.

“We had ambitions to get promoted by whatever way possible. We’d have loved to have gone automatic, but we probably left it a bit too late. Then with the injuries we had going into the Wrexham game that really stifled any hope right at the end. The two most consistent sides have gone up over the full season, then there are four teams now and anyone can do it – because it is a bit of lottery the play-offs, there can be a red card or something that derails something. It is a wonderful challenge. A year ago we were all on our holidays now and we had our end of season do – everything was rosy with optimism. That optimism has come to fruition and now we need to execute.”

What Richie Wellens has said about Leyton Orient’s chances

Wellens told the BBC ahead of Orient’s semi-finals: "We've got a culture and environment where people come and flourish. Our supporters are brilliant, our chairman [Nigel Travis] is important in that because the way he runs the club drips down to everybody and makes everybody enjoy it.

“It [Stockport] a nice local one for me. It's probably it's probably the nearest club to my house in Manchester apart from Manchester United. Let's just enjoy it. Full house at their place, full house at our place. Let's give it everything we have got. We've got nothing to lose."
