Charlton Athletic Player Ratings: Build 10/10 a statue and 'dominant' 9 in jubilant Wycombe Wanderers win
A late Matty Godden goal books Charlton Athletic a ticket to Wembley Stadium in a dramatic finish to the League One play-off semi final.
Charlton Athletic will fight for a place in the Championship next season at the League One play-off final later this month having beaten Wycombe Wanderers at The Valley on Thursday night.

The Addicks welcomed the Chairboys to London with the scores level following a 0-0 bore draw at Adams Park last time out. For 81 minutes at The Valley, that scoreline remained unchanged before the prolific Matty Godden bundled home a loose ball.
Charlton Athletic were truly the only side in the second leg, dominating play in front of a sold-out and jubilant home crowd. The job is far from done for Jones and co. as Leyton Orient await, but the Addicks will take back-to-back clean sheets into the final against Leyton Orient. Here’s how the Charlton Athletic players rated.
Charlton Athletic player ratings
GK - Will Mannion, 8
Got a big punch in early doors to feel himself into the game and not really challenged by Wycombe Wanderers after that. He must be chuffed to have this defence in front of him.
LB - Josh Edwards, 6
The full-back’s main threat came from long throws and he looked leggy as the game went on. Constantly shouted at by Jones to ‘calm down’ from the sidelines and will need to keep his head better at Wembley.
CB - Macaulay Gillesphey, 8
Sometimes overly ambitious in the way he would pick long balls out but does have real moments of vision to play attacking moves from the back. Outleapt Daniel Udoh all night long.
CB - Lloyd Jones, 9
The way the centre-back missed that sitter of a header in the first half was the stuff of nightmares, but he more than made up for that. Such a big character and pushed right up to the end - the Addicks goal came from his hard work to make a nuisance of himself in the opposition box late on.
CB - Kayne Ramsay, 10
If Charlton Athletic win the play-off final, that late double block is practically worth of a statue on its own. The Valley felt 76 minutes of dominance about to slip away but Ramsay got down twice to make vital blocks after Edwards was dispossessed in an advanced position. Phenomenal defending that will live long in the memory.
RB - Thierry Small, 9
The 20-year-old is a league above League One really. A constant threat on the right wing and put in a huge shift to get up and down that flank. Surprising to see him make way for Chuks Aneke given his dominance but is having his minutes managed.
CM - Conor Coventry, 8
Mopped up well in front of defence and happy to play the obvious ball when needed. His through ball to Campbell in the 60th minute was exactly the type of pass that his side had been struggling to find.
CM - Alex Gilbert, 8
Brilliant in the first half. Tenacious to chase down loose balls and not afraid to scrap, as well as looking confident when carrying the ball. Did fade in influence after the break before his sub.
Addicks strikers turn in performances full of ‘hustle and bustle’
CM - Greg Docherty, 7
Robust as ever in the centre of the park and received a harsh yellow before half time. That caution made his second half defensive work a little absent and had Jones doing a stompy little dance when playing a pass first time for no reason.
ST - Tyreece Campbell, 7
Full of hustle and bustle. Even after long periods of not being in the game, had the turn of pace and drive that meant Wycombe Wanderers could never forget about him. Deserved a goal for his two outings over the semi-final.
ST - Matty Godden, 8
A largely quiet evening as Charlton Athletic struggled to create any guilt-edged chances but Godden is a talisman who does not give up. Was in the right place at the right time to fire home the winner - and that is no matter of luck.
SUBS - Chuks Aneke (7), Karoy Anderson (8), Tennai Watson (N/A)
