Brentford will have to see off Juventus competition if they rekindle interest in Serie A man this summer

Brentford will have to see off strong competition from elsewhere if they are to sign Spezia right-back Emil Holm this summer. The Bees were linked with a swoop for the defender in the January transfer window but nothing materialised.

Italian outlet Il Secolo XIX (via Bold.dk) reported earlier this winter that Thomas Frank’s side were interested in a potential move. Championship table toppers Burnley were also said to be in the frame.

However, in this latest development, Serie A giants Juventus are now believed to be keeping tabs on his situation between now and the end of the season according to Corriere di Torino (via Tutto Juve).

Brentford currently have Aaron Hickey and Mads Roerslev in his position so it is difficult to see where he would fit in at the Gtech Community Stadium anyway. The London club only brought in one signing last month in Kevin Schade.

Holm, 22, is a Sweden international with two caps to his name. He has been with Spezia since 2021 and spent time on loan at SønderjyskE last term.

In other news, reporter Fabrizio Romano says Brentford will only sell striker Ivan Toney for big money. He has told CaughtOffside: “There will be a chance to leave for Ivan Toney in the summer but only if the right proposal will arrive, Brentford will not sell for a ‘normal’ price. Despite some rumours circulating, I’m not aware of any negotiation with Chelsea at all; zero, as things stand.”
