Latest Brentford transfer news and rumours following the end of the Premier League season

Brentford are reportedly interested in Sao Paulo midfielder Pablo Maia ahead of the upcoming transfer window. The Bees are in the hunt for reinforcements to their squad as they prepare for another year in the Premier League.

UOL claim the Bees are keen on Maia along with fellow top flight club Nottingham Forest. The 21-year-old is highly-rated in Brazil and becomes the latest player to be linked with a switch to England over the next couple of months.

Brentford could see the youngster as one for the future in the middle of the park. He would give them another option to pick from in midfield in the next campaign.

He has been a key player for Sao Paulo since breaking into their first-team last year and they could face a battle to keep hold of him now. Prior to his move to his current club, he had spells at Independente Futebol Clube and Portuguesa Santista.

In other Brentford news, Mads Bidstrup has told Ekstra Bladet that he is ready to fight for his place when he returns from his loan at Nordsjælland. He said: “It’s a very difficult task to take on in Brentford, but I am ready for it and am ready to give it a head start.”

Turkish side Trabzonspor are apparently keen on luring Halil Dervişoğlu away from the Gtech Community Stadium, as per Karar. The attacker has spent this past season on loan at Burnley in the Championship but struggled for game time with the Lancashire outfit as they gained promotion under Vincent Kompany.
