Brentford could follow the signing of £25 million Norwegian winger Antonio Nusa by bringing former Bees star Said Benrahama back to the Gtech Community Stadium from Premier League rivals West Ham.

The Bees beat Tottenham Hotspur to land Nusa from Club Brugge, with the 18-year-old poised to return to the Belgian outfit until the end of the season. It comes as the West London club also announced a deal for Iceland goalkeeper Hákon Valdimarsson, believed to cost £2.6 million.

Valdimarsson, signed from Allsvenskan side Elfsborg last week, put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year deal with the cub, which could be extended by an additional two years. Valdimarsson was named Goalkeeper of the Year in the Swedish top flight in 2023, managing more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper.

Valdimarsson is unlikely to displace first-choice star Mark Flekken in between the sticks and is more of a future investment but Thomas Frank could add a first-team starter to his side before the window shuts this week by making a call to David Moyes at the London Stadium. The club has been linked with a deal for Hammers forward Benrahma.

The 28-year-old spent three years at Brentford between 2018 and 2021, before making a loan move to West Ham permanent for £25 million. During his first spell at Brentford, Benrahma registered 30 goals and 27 assists in 94 appearances.

West Ham have been short on attacking options with injuries to Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta while Mohammed Kudus has been away on AFCON duty. However, Moyes nearly has all three of those players available again and links to Sunderland star Jack Clake and Ghanian Ibrahim Osman could sanction the departure of Benrahma.

The Algerian has struggled for game time this season and picked up a silly red card when called upon in the FA Cup humbling to Bristol City earlier this month. Everton, Lyon, Marseille and Saudi Arabian clubs have also been linked with a move for Benrahma.

The Sun reports that Benrahma could be available for a 'cheap return deal' to Brentford, who could still lose talisman Ivan Toney this month - although that is looking increasingly likely to be a summer move. Earlier this season, Frank completed the reunion of former Bees forward Neal Maupay from Everton but the striker has bagged just three league goals since arriving on loan in August.
