West Ham look poised to follow up the coup of landing Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City with a transfer for highly-rated FC Norsjaelland winger Ibrahim Osman. The club is 'close to reaching an agreement' with the Danish outfit over a £15 million deal for the 19-year-old.

It's been a busy week for the Hammers, who have bounced back from last week's FA Cup disappointment against Bristol City by showing real intention in the January transfer window. David Moyes' side have successfully hijacked a move for England international Phillips, who had been courted by Crystal Palace, Everton, Newcastle United and Juventus this month.

West Ham confirmed the completion of a loan deal on Friday morning, with Philips set to return to the Etihad Stadium at the end of the current campaign - there are some murmurs that a potential swap deal involving Lucas Paqueta could then be struck should Moyes want Phillips at the London Stadium permanently. West Ham have paid Manchester City a loan fee and will cover Phillips' £140,000 a week wages.

Moyes has now added to his midfield but is still needing reinforcements up front. With Michail Antonio injured and Danny Ings out of favour, the Hammers are without an out-and-out striker with winger Jarrod Bowen playing through the middle, and doing so with aplomb.

West Ham have been linked with a number of forwards so far this month, all of whom are versatile wingers rather than marksmen. Sunderland's Jack Clarke and former Spurs man Steven Bergwijn have both been touted as targets for the club.

However, Sky Sports reports that it is teenager Osman whom West Ham have finally landed on with talks to join the Premier League club underway. It comes after transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed that negotiations over a £15 million move were close to an agreement earlier this week.

Osman has made 29 appearances in all competitions for FC Norsjaelland this term, including six in the UEFA Conference League. He has registered four goals and five assists.

The forward is a product of the Ghanaian Right to Dream Academy, which has produced stars including Hammers man Mohammed Kudus. Osman only made his professional debut for FC Norsjaelland in February 2023 but has already earned praise from his manager.

Speaking last summer, Johannes Hoff Thorup said: "He is a fast winger and striker, and I have huge expectations for him to be skilled. He has the pace which is important for us to have on at least one of our strikers."
