Brentford and Nottingham Forest-linked Viktor Tsyhankov is reportedly poised to join Girona instead. The Dynamo Kyiv winger is on his way to La Liga.

That’s according to reporter Fabrizio Romano on Twitter (see below), who says the Spanish outfit have reached a ‘full agreement’ to land his signature. Girona have links to current Premier League champions Manchester City.

Brentford and Nottingham Forest were said to be ‘interested’, as per a report by Sport Arena. However, the player is not moving to the Premier League this winter.

Tsyhankov, 25, has made 236 appearances in all competitions for Dynamo Kyiv over recent years and is a big player for them, scoring 92 goals to date. His contract there expires this summer though which meant it was always going to be a tough task to keep hold of him this month.

The Bees could have seen him as someone to further bolster their attacking department. They have already brought in Kevin Schade from Eintracht Frankfurt though which begs the question whether they even needed the Ukraine international.

Elsewhere, Brentford goalkeeper David Raya is facing an uncertain long-term future with his deal up next year. He has told AS: “Every player has goals and wants to improve. Now I am focused on my team and in the summer, we will see what happens. If they want to do business, they will have to do it but there is a long season left and I am only focused on doing it well. In the summer, we will assess my situation.”
